We are pleased to announce the acquisition of Geoscience Books, formerly of Libby,
Montana, effective August 1, 2006. Upper Midwest Geology and Natural History Books has changed its name accordingly
and is now Geoscience Books. Since its inception in 1989 and under the stewardship of its founder,
Michael Cowan, Geoscience Books grew to become the most prominent internet-based source for earth science books. Michael is
true gentleman and firm believer in customer care, and that tradition will continue under our ownership.
The merging of our respective stocks of books, bulletins, journals, atlases,
offprints and pamphlets that pertain to the earth sciences and related subjects has created an inventory of nearly
50,000 titles. It will take some time to catalog and enter into inventory this vast literature, and that work is currently
underway. This site (www.raregeologybooks.com) will continue to host our online inventory.
We will continue the Geoscience Books tradition of
issuing quarterly and occasional subject-oriented web
catalogs. Posting announcements will be e-mailed directly to
our customers, and posted on the Geoscience Books home
page at www.geosciencebooks.com as an html document.
You may request a copy to be e-mailed as a pdf as well.
Our currently posted catalog is MINING ORES AND
INDUSTRIAL ROCKS AND MINERALS posted March
2009. Our next catalog will focus on a good selection
of Oil Gas and Coal literature. If you would like to
be placed on our e-mailing list, please send your e-mail
address to me at raregeologybooks@earthlink.net . Note
that all e-mail addresses are used solely for book sales within
our business and are NOT provided to anyone else under
any circumstances. Your privacy is respected and your
continued patronage highly valued.
Want lists are always accepted. For now, please address
those to Phillip Huber at raregeologybooks@earthlink.net.
Please be as specific as possible with your wants, and
include author, title, publisher, serial or volume number,
etc... We are always interested in the purchase of single
volumes to entire libraries. Please give us the opportunity to
consider your holdings and make a fair offer. Geoscience
Books looks forward to serving your geoscience literature
needs for many decades to come!
Sincerely,
Phillip Huber, Bookseller/Geologist
