TOPOGRAPHIC ATLAS OF NEW YORK 1890-1930s, compiled by C. Loomis Allen in a custom
binding, and consisting of 286 60 minute, and 7.5 minute topographic quadrangle maps
in addition to 2 National maps published by the U. S. Geological Survey. Many are first
edition map sheets, some are 2nd and 3rd edition. Condition- The binding is shot with
loose boards, which are worn, soiled, etc.. The maps are varied. About 1/3 have some
rough or folded edges and/or marginal soiling/stain to lower margin of map sheets,
though usually outside of the printed map border, about 1/3 are clean with some edge
wear, and the remaining 1/3 very good with no issues. Some of the older map sheets are
printed on slightly larger sheets, and those are the ones that tend to have soiled corners
and margins. Overall as an atlas, a fair to good copy, but for individual maps, a very
good fine. Among the 288 total maps are included those of much of coastal Connecticut
and areas of Pennsylvania and New Jersey along the New York Border. Among the maps
in decent shape are those covering Long Island, New York City, coastal Connecticut
along Long Island Sound, and many others. A unique item for sure. The atlas is rather
heavy and bulky, wieghing around 30 lbs. The shipping price of $40.00 reflects packing
materials and shipping costs.                 Price: $500.00                    (stock#NYAtlas)
